Who’s the twelfth Doctor? Part 1

Since the announcement of Matt Smith’s departure there have been a great deal of speculation and rumours about the twelfth Doctor. From TV stars to Hollywood super stars the forth coming Doctor is still not confirmed. In this article TheDrWho explore the options of who the next Doctor will be?

1.Tom Hiddleston

Although a noticeable character in Movies appearing as Loki in 2 instalments of the Thor films and The Avengers ( in the image above), Tom Hiddledston appeared as Prince Hale/Henry V in BBC One’s mini-series The Hollow Crown. With a history of appearing on BBC One with Casualty and The Hollow Crown etc., will the Hollywood actor be able to have a main part in a television series. This is possible considering he had the part in The Hollow Crown after making his debut as Loki, Thor’s brother in-law/enemy.

2. Benedict Cumberbatch

Playing the lead role in Steven Moffat’s other hit drama,Sherlock, has made Cumberbatch famous in the world of Hollywood by playing khan in Star Trek Into Darkness and Smaug/The Necromancer in The Hobbit trilogy. As a marvellous actor he could play the Doctor very well indeed. But fans has been hinting that he could play the Doctor’s arch enemy, the Master.

3. Russell Tovey


Russell Tovey made a name for himself as an actor by playing the lead in Toby Whitehouse’s,(Doctor Who writer),Being Human. Tovey has already played a famous character in Doctor Who, Alonso in 2007’s Christmas Special alongside David Tennant and Kylie Minogue and a small guest appearance in Tennant’s final episode as the Doctor in The End of Time part 2. As an extroadinary young actor Tovey will be famous for years to come.
